For one of our modules last semester our class had to create a fashion magazine. This is what my editors letter looked like:
Oleg Cassini wrote "Fashion anticipates, and elegance is a state of mind...a mirror of the time in which we live, a translation of the future, and should never be static". He was right. There is no better reflection of how future generations view us than by what we wear and how we wear it. As I see it this generation of ours has yet to follow a specific fashion culture or trend that has defined us. I find it so liberating that we can wear what we want, how we want; be as controversial as Lady Gaga or as conservative as Kate Middleton and all sort of fit together, in this subtly unique melting pot of young people who can't be labelled or defined but just are what we are. We don't throw our undefinedness in society's face - it is a sign of the times that we now accept what would have been considered litigious by older generations but is now regarded as rather passe.
Instead we glory in our self-belief and awareness of ourselves, and even if we don't know who we truly are yet, we will revel in the journey of self-discovery until we do. Our tastes may vary and change faster than most people, as they say, have hot dinners. We are the fast moving consumers who demand 'MORE MORE MORE', 'FASTER FASTER FASTER' to a market who are struggling to keep up with us. We search relentlessly for the latest gadget, the newest designer goodie or the satisfaction of finding a hidden vintage treasure in the Aladdin's cave of charity shops. We EVOKE all the best bits of our past counterparts and bring them bang-up-to-date with their modern contemporaries. Oleg Cassini was right; we are the reflection of our past, our present and our future.

Lovin' a quote
As you will come to realise I am OBSESSED with quotes. I just love them. There is something so profound and beautiful about how we use our words to express ourselves, what we're feeling and how other people feel the same way. So im just warning you now that quotes about lots of things but especially about love and romance because i'm a complete hopeless old romantic that anything written about love makes me heart melt.
I have been astonished that men could die martyrs for their religion -
I have shudder'd at it.
I shudder no more.
I could be martyr'd for my religion
Love is my religion
And I could die for that.
I could die for you.
~ by John Keats
So dear I love him, that with him all deaths I could endure, without him live no life. ~John Milton
I havent posted in sooooo long and i don't know why.
i love blogging and writing so much and i guess i got a little too busy with other things as usual. not cool.
so any way, the things that are new with me is:
my gorgeous, amazing and incredibly adorable boyfriend of 5years asked me to marry him on our anniversary.....and i said YES!!!!!!
I wore the gorgeous pink knee length carrie skirt from Whistles with a sequinned white high necked topshop top with my favourite irregular choice gold high heels with the little gummie bear looking embellishment and a beautiful Lulu Guinness pink clutch. He told me to wear something memorable that night!

And here is a picture of the most perfect ring in the world, for me that is!! I absolutely couldn't adore this ring more. Matt took me on the day of the Royal Wedding (sweet i know) to go ring shopping and we had went to the first jewellery store and the man just DID NOT GET ME one tiny bit. But then we went to the next one and it was literally love at first sight. Its from their 'memoir' collection so it had me from the start. Oh and the wedding band to go with it is pure perfection too!! At the point we went ring shopping Matt hadn't actually asked me to marry him yet but I jokingly said to him if he would mind asking me now so i didn't have to take the pretty diamonds off!!
However, I patiently waited a further month till the 30th May (our 5year anniversary) till he went down upon bended knee and asked me if I would do him the honour of being his wife. The proposal was divine and totally him and me.

I got a shock because I thought it maybe could be that night but then he told me he was taking me to a restaurant (albeit our favourite and most special restaurant) because I had always said to him if he was to ever ask me to never do it in a restaurant with people looking SOOOO embarrassing!! But he actually bought out the restaurant so we were alone, had my red and white roses, candles and my favourite music playing.
We're getting married the day before my 21st birthday, on Friday 21st September 2012 at Aswanley Estate in Huntly http://www.aswanley.com/. Its a gorgeous converted steading, everything has been recently refurbished and it fits my dream wedding perfectly!
And guess what I'm doing tomorrow.........
Going to look for my bridal gown!!! It's so, so surreal I can't actually believe its happening. Such an amazing year ahead for us

Let's begin...
When i'm meeting someone new I always want to start with a cool joke to break the ice you know but I never seem to be able to pull them off. Probably because I'm kinda goofy and not so socially eloquent as I would like to be...but here goes
"how much does a polar bear weigh....."
"enough to break the ice..."
^ classic breaking the ice joke but it was so cheesy I couldn't resist!
Anyway, this blog is a place where I can write down my thoughts about a whole lots of topics from fashion to film, basically anything that inspires me or I want to talk about.
So I hope that you enjoy whatever I write.
Goodnight x
